Cyril Afanasyev is a native of St. Petersburg, Russia.

His artistic talents were recognized early and he followed rigorous art, design, sculpture and painting instruction and tutorials alongside his usual studies.

He was awarded honors from the renowned Institute for Art Restoration, St. Petersburg and the highly competitive Art and Landscape Exhibition of the USSR in Gorky, Russia.
